Notice Description

Service concession contract: Peterborough City Council is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified service provider to deliver a service concession contract for the provision and management of a high quality Christmas Market to be held in the City Centre in December 2019. Date the Christmas Market commences in December is negotiable and is planned to run through to 24th of December. The successful provider is expected to deliver the service free of charge to Peterborough City Council. Additional information: The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a procurement that Peterborough City Council intends to commence in February 2019. It is anticipated that a separate contract notice relating to the supply of the above specified services will be submitted for publication to commence the procurement process. All service providers should respond only to the contract notice when it is published. The key objectives of this procurement is to award to a service provider that: 1) include a broad and diverse range of high quality Christmas-themed activities and appropriately decorated market stalls, 2) provide festive displays and entertainment, 3) appeal to people of all age groups, 4) include special features or attractions, 5) promote a positive image of the event and city via integrated marketing communication plans and event branding, 6) appeal to local residents as well as encouraging visitors into the city centre and increasing dwell time, 7) the Market must not focus on or primarily consist of market stalls selling fast foods. The festival is planned to commence in December and will run through to the 24th of December 2019. Peterborough City Council is a public authority within the meaning of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and all correspondence received will be dealt with in accordance with the Act. The contracting authority intends to use the Peterborough City Council's eSourcing portal in this procurement exercise: SourceDogg.
