Summary of the contracting process

The Department for Education is currently in the planning stage for a contract titled "High Potential Initial Teacher Training," which aims to deliver high calibre teachers in England. The initiative involves an employment-based training programme that recruits teacher trainees for challenging schools serving economically disadvantaged pupils. Key dates include a significant engagement end date set for 30 November 2018, and interested organisations must submit a questionnaire by 5pm on Tuesday, 18 September 2018, to express their interest in future contracting opportunities. The procurement falls under the category of education and training services and is aimed at mobilising the programme in Spring 2019.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses, particularly those involved in education and training services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, charitable, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, provided they can mobilise their services in time to recruit for the ITT starting in September 2020. The programme’s focus on developing teachers for underserved areas may also appeal to organisations with experience in inclusive education and training methodologies. Interested parties should prepare for potential engagement events following the submission of their questionnaires, allowing for collaborative discussions on further project insights and contracting arrangements.
