Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council is seeking to procure temporary accommodation through the "Open Framework for Provision of Nightly Rate Temporary Accommodation For RBWM". This procurement process is classified under the industry category of letting services for short-stay furnished accommodation and social work services with accommodation. It is currently in the Tender stage and follows an open procedure within the Light Touch Regime. Located in the South East region of the United Kingdom, this initiative aims to address homelessness by enlisting multiple providers such as housing companies and lettings agents. The procurement method is open, with the submission deadline for tender responses set for 7th April 2026, and the start date of the contract period scheduled for 1st June 2026.

This open framework presents significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, voluntary, community, and social enterprises. Companies capable of providing a range of short-stay accommodation facilities can benefit from participating, potentially securing long-term involvement with the Council as the framework will reopen periodically over an eight-year max duration. As the framework periodically reopens, it provides businesses with an opportunity to tender again, therefore appealing to both established providers and newcomers aiming to expand their public sector client base. This can be particularly beneficial for organisations looking to enhance their service offerings in the social housing and accommodation sectors.
