Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Crown Commercial Service as the buying organisation, seeking consultancy services for port infrastructure under the title "Procurement of Port Infrastructure Consultancy." This initiative falls within the project management consultancy services category and is set within the UK. The procurement method used is selective, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement. The tender period ended on 25 November 2021, with the contract period running from 26 November 2021 to 25 July 2022, involving a total contract value of £2,000,000.

This opportunity presents significant potential for business growth, particularly for consultancy firms with experience in project management and infrastructure development. Businesses specialising in social research services may also find this tender relevant, as the contract aims to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is in place for enhanced border checks post-Brexit. Firms capable of navigating complexities related to UK port operations and compliance with new regulations will be well-suited to compete for such contracts.

Notice Title

Procurement of Port Infrastructure Consultancy

Notice Description

In preparation for the end of the UK Transition out of the EU, the Government has committed to provide funding to help ports to build the necessary infrastructure at the border. This takes the form of the Port Infrastructure Fund. Our departure from the EU means that ports are required to make additional checks on the goods that are being transported into the UK. The processes for these checks are owned by OGDs, but it is the purpose of this work to make sure that the infrastructure is in place to ensure that these checks can take place.
