Notice Description

Following completion of the restoration works, the Heritage Lottery Funded Castle Project is now focused on delivering an improved cultural offer through the site, and generating increased income to ensure its long term sustainability. The Activity Provider will develop and deliver a comprehensive programme of activities to engage the local community and learners of all ages and visitors with the heritage of Oakham Castle. Activities should be based on those detailed in the Oakham Castle Activity Plan (2014) and the work undertaken by the project team during the first part of the delivery phase. An innovative and creative approach to the development of new activities is encouraged. The Activity Provider will be expected to deliver events with complementary activities being delivered by the Castle Learning Officer and other members of the Rutland County Council Culture and Leisure Services team. The programme will be delivered over a period of 18 months, from April 2019 to October 2020 and during this time the following services should be provided: * Major heritage events * Smaller local heritage events * Heritage-based education events * Creative workshops * Volunteering events * Specific events for older people
