Historic building repairs and restoration work to 104-116 Church Street, Stoke

Notice Description

The owner of 104-116 Church Street, Stoke wishes to appoint a contractor to undertake historic restoration work to the building. The work will include historic replacement of the 7 shop fronts and surrounds, structural work to the upper floors (to include repairs to steelwork and re-building of parapet), roof repairs (flat roof), replacement of windows on the upper floors, repair/replacement of rainwater goods and external decoration. Planning permission for the shop fronts is being submitted. Work will be part funded by the Stoke Partnership Scheme in Conservation Areas (Historic England/Stoke-on-Trent City Council). Access to the property can be arranged by contacting the property owner Karen Copeland 07917 191941. All tender documents and drawings will be sent to interested companies by Helen Evans 01782 232522 email helen.evans@stoke.gov.uk (please note Helen is not available on Fridays). For any further details on the Stoke PSiCA Scheme please contact Helen Evans 01782 232522. Tenders are to be returned by the closing date and time shown on the advert (31/05/2018 17.00) to the following address: Philip J Wootton RIBA AABC 3 Belgrave Avenue Alsager Cheshire ST7 2BX Please ensure that your envelope is clearly marked 'Tender Enclosed Church Street Shops' Additional information: Please note that the tenders will be scored on price and quality. This will include previous experience of company, quality of the tender submitted, timeframe and evidence of insurances. Please therefore ensure that evidence of all of these elements are included within your submission. In reference to the asbestos report the property owner has confirmed that all the asbestos has been addressed apart from the ceiling in shop 110/112. Please note that the original advert for tenders was place on 14th May 2018, additional attachments for Health and Safety and Asbestos have since been added to the advert. Please note that the closing date and time for the tender submissions is 31/05/2018 at 17.00
