Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is led by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Natural England) for the "Lowland Raised Bog Restoration Framework Contract," aimed at streamlining peat bog restoration services across various regions in England. This project falls under the industry category of specialist trade construction works, specifically related to environmental services. The contract, valued between £5 million and £10 million, is in the award stage, following a restricted procedure. The contract period commenced on 15 May 2015 and extends to 14 May 2019, with tenders submitted exclusively through the Bravo e-tendering portal.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specializing in environmental restoration, tree/scrub removal, and related consultancy services. Companies with capabilities in ecological consultancy, geological services, and specific forestry tasks will find this procurement particularly relevant. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) looking to expand their operations in environmental projects should consider participating, as they can provide valuable services needed for successful contract execution.

Notice Title

Lowland Raised Bog Restoration Framework Contract

Notice Description

Natural England intend to create a framework contract so that we have all the services required for peat bog restoration in one place and to also help streamline the contract award process. Specific Purchases under the stated framework lots will be made on an ad hoc basis as the opportunity arises over the next 4 years. Purchases will cover Tree/Scrub Removal, Peat Restoration activities, Surveys, Analysis and Health & Safety Design/Supervision. 50 % or more of the expenditure committed via this framework will be made by Natural England, however we expect the Ministry of Defense, the Forestry Commission, the Environment Agency and other members of the DEFRA family such as Core Defra, The Lake District National Park Authority, The North York Moors National Park Authority, The Northumberland National Park Authority, The Peak District National Park Authority and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority will also use it for ad hoc Peat restoration on their sites. Tenders can only be submitted via our e-tendering portal (Bravo). Prior to the tender clarification deadline you may contact us to clarify any points with regard to the tender. Each lot will have its own 'Messages' section to communicate with us. We require that you contact us in writing via the Bravo 'Messages' area and that you ensure the question you are asking relates to the lot you are messaging from (unless it is a general query with regard to the framework as a whole). We will then compile a document of Q&As which will be updated and made available through Bravo every time a new query is asked. Additional information: Please note that Natural England procurement uses e-tendering, provided by Bravosolutions. In order to access the Bravo system you will need to be registered. Could I therefore request that you register on the Bravo portal for Natural England. If you're already registered on the Bravo portal please check that your registration includes Natural England, as you have to specify us in order to correctly receive the tender documents. If you have any problems with the registration process, please contact the Bravo helpline on 0800 368 4850 or alternatively email them at help@bravosolution.co.uk.
