Summary of the contracting process

Leidos Supply Limited is currently conducting an open tender for the support of Digital Imagery Equipment used in both operational land and afloat environments within the UK and overseas. This procurement falls under the category of medical services, specifically for imaging equipment for medical use, and has been divided into two lots. The tender period is set to close on 3rd February 2017, and businesses can submit proposals for either or both lots, while providing responses for two options within each. The contract is expected to commence on 10th March 2017 and will run until 9th March 2021, with a total estimated value of £3 million and a minimum value of £1 million.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) specialising in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Businesses capable of providing comprehensive service contracts, including the supply of consumables, spares, repairs, and maintenance for high-value imaging equipment would be particularly well-suited to compete. With services required across various field hospitals and the possibility for emergency callouts throughout the UK, firms with flexible service capabilities and a solid understanding of security classifications will likely find this an advantageous avenue for growth.
