Purchase of a Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. Worcestershire Acute NHS Trusts intend to purchase a Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System from Intuitive Surgical to assist with Urological procedures with the potential to extend into head and neck cancer suregry as well as Gynaecology cancer surgery. The intended purchase will give clinical and patients benefits, including minimally invasive techniques leading to shorter hospital stay for patients and faster patient recovery with fewer complications. Appropriate levels of staff need to be trained and supported during the integration of the robotic system into surgical practices, with the trust requiring ongoing support to ensure that the system continues to provide a high level of service.
