Summary of the contracting process

The Yorkshire and Humber Police Procurement (Y&HPP) is currently seeking bids for a tender titled "Pilot Instrument Rating (NPAS)" in the training services industry. The procurement process is at the tender stage, with submissions open until 13th December 2018. This initiative aims to train up to 40 pilots over a five-year period, with the contract expected to commence on 1st March 2019 and conclude by 28th February 2022. The tender process follows an open procurement method, with an estimated total value of £720,000 and a minimum value of £640,000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the aviation training sector, particularly those that provide advanced pilot training courses and simulator services. Companies specialising in training services, particularly those focused on flight simulations and certification for military pilots, would be well-positioned to compete. The requirement for both full courses and a training package for non-approved examinations further widens the scope for engagement from SMEs able to deliver quality training solutions tailored to the needs of the police service.
