Notice Description

The University of Sheffield is out to tender on behalf of the Department of Oncology and Metabolism for an X-Ray Irradiator. Scope of Requirement: The Department of Oncology and Metabolism (https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/medicine/department-oncology-metabolism) in the Medical School currently houses a Caesium (137Cs) irradiator (purchased from CIS Bio International - model number IBL437c) which is subject to strict security, licensing, regulatory compliance, regular inspections and annual recalibration. Given these issues and in line with Project Fieldfare - a government initiative to replace Caesium irradiators in the UK with alternative technologies - the University of Sheffield is looking to purchase an X ray irradiator to support our preclinical research and experimental studies. The X Ray Irradiator system will be used for studying the effects of radiation on molecular components and pathways in various cell culture models, or to create mutations for downstream analysis and/or ablative treatments for stem cell feeder layers. The full technical specification can be found in the tender documentation which will be sent to you once you have expressed your interest. Tender Process and Documentation: This is an open exercise.
