Summary of the contracting process

The Stoke-on-Trent City Council is currently conducting a procurement process for a "Labour Only Framework" aimed at supporting the delivery of responsive repairs during peak demand periods. This tender is classified under the construction work industry category, particularly focusing on repair and maintenance services. The procurement process, which is in the Tender stage, is expected to conclude on 26 August 2020. The framework is set to commence on 2 January 2021, with an initial contract period of two years, potentially extendable for an additional two years. The total estimated value of the contract is £3,900,000, and it will be implemented in the West Midlands region.

This tender creates significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in various construction trades, including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and gas engineering services. As the framework allows contractors to bid for multiple lots, businesses with capabilities in these areas can enhance their market presence and secure steady contracts. This could be particularly advantageous for those companies looking to establish or expand their operations in the repair and maintenance sector, supported by the financial backing of Unitas, which will cover material costs, allowing contractors to focus on labour provision.
