The Sowerby Bridge Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) programme will unlock the potential of shop fronts within Sowerby Bridge High Street, restoring local historic character and improving the public realm. There will be a combination of a cultural programme, community engagement and grant funding for properties within Sowerby Bridge High Street, with the aim to become a more attractive, engaging, and vibrant place for people of all ages to live, work and visit. The aim of the Sowerby Bridge HAZ fund is to renovate and rejuvenate some of Sowerby Bridge Shop fronts in a way that drives growth, improves experience and ensures future sustainability. It will do this by providing co-funding to successful applicants to support the transformation and aesthetic appearance of their shop fronts.
