Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence (MoD), specifically the ISS Commercial Sourcing Team, has initiated a public tender for a Global Positioning System (GPS) Simulator, with an estimated value of £348,000. The procurement is classified under the goods category, specifically electromagnetic units, and falls under the CPV code 33158100. The tender is currently active and is being conducted via an open procurement method. Proposals are due by 25th November 2019, with the contract period expected to commence on 2nd March 2020 and extend through to 2nd March 2021. The delivery addresses include locations in the UK and other regions such as British Oversea Territories and Europe.

This tender presents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in the supply of advanced electronics and testing equipment, particularly those with capabilities in developing programmable technologies for GPS signal emulation. Suppliers that can demonstrate compliance with specific technical requirements are encouraged to participate, especially those that offer solutions in radio frequency components or machines for testing and measuring. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly suitable for this opportunity, given the procurement authority's openness to engage them in the supply chain.
