Notice Description

****Please register/log in at www.capitalesourcing.com to view all tender information/documents**** The London Borough of Hillingdon (hereinafter referred to as LBH or the Council) wish to carry out roof covering removal and replacement with existing pantiles to this site area as identified and recorded in the Schedule of Works Outline Specification (enclosed in this Pre-construction Information Pack). The works are to undertake the renewal of the roof covering to extension lobby area front and rear elevation. Some of the roof tiles to the main building are overlapping the extension roof covering, if some of the tiles to the main building need to be removed these will need to be set aside and put back on the main building. The main building is listed (grade II) and falls within the conservation area. Following the completion of works, making good any affected areas to be undertaken by the contractor, this will include the making good of any wall ties for the independent tied scaffold once struck. The gutter and downpipe need to be cleaned and cleared on completion of the works. Any potential damage to the soffit would need to be rectified at the contractor's cost. This project also involves the removal of asbestos under cloak material to both the front and rear elevation (the removal will be undertaken by European asbestos). This property falls within a Conservation area, Green belt and Listed (grade II original structure). The contractor should aim to carry out works with minimal disturbance to the roof tiles of the adjacent main building. This roof covering to both buildings should be protected throughout works - at the end of each day the lobby roof should be left protected to prevent any water infiltration. When erecting scaffold access to the building access should not be restricted, this building is in constant use. Also, the building is regularly used by youths so the scaffold should be child proof (alarm, foam to standards, signs etc). The duration for the replacement for the roof covering is anticipated to be in the region of 12 weeks. Any questions about this procurement should be submitted in writing via the capitalEsourcing Portal. This should be used for all queries and requests for clarification regarding the procurement as it provides an effective and auditable trail. A Tenderer's queries will be secure and cannot be seen by any other Tenderers. The Authority will publish the questions and the response, in a suitably anonymous form, via the Messages tool to all Tenderers before the closing date for the submission of Tenders.
