Contract Summary
The General Staff Centre (GSC) delivers the CODC to every Maj, Lt Col and Col prior to assumption of a command post as mandatory pre-employment training. The course is delivered to 150 personnel per year. The CO has, arguably, the most direct leadership influence over the Army's soldiers and junior officers and it is immensely important that the individual is given the opportunity and the relevant tools to reflect on their command style. The coaching provision as part of the preparation for command has been delivered for the last four years and proved able to meet the demands and expectations of Op TEAMWORK. In this context it is essential that the CO takes the lead and sets the example of making the most of all opportunities for inclusivity and self awareness, this offers a tangible example of engaging with this as a process.
