Heat Distribution Systems Research - Supplier Engagement Event
Notice Description
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy's Energy will be holding a supplier engagement event with the details as follows: When: 10am-12pm Friday 3rd May 2019 Where: Conference Centre, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, 1 Victoria Street, London, SW1H 0ET To sign up to the event, please use the following link to Eventbrite: https://heatdistributionsystems.eventbrite.co.uk The password is 'heatdistribution'. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy is hosting a supplier engagement event to share our plans for a seven-month research project on domestic heat distribution systems. This research will consolidate and increase our understanding of existing domestic heat distribution systems and identify opportunities to improve their performance. The project will be split into two separate Lots with the following aims: Lot 1 - Review of current heat distribution systems * To consolidate and increase our understanding of domestic heat distribution systems including current technologies, operating principles and their history * To review both present and past design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance practices * To assess the current and potential market for heat distribution systems * To identify applicable standards, policies and regulations * To better understand capital, installation, operation, and maintenance costs * To build up an evidence base of heat distribution systems across the current housing stock Lot 2 - Potential for improved performance of heat distribution systems * To review the technical performance and maintenance of heat distribution systems * To identify measures (e.g. actions or products) to improve their performance * To analyse the energy and cost savings of the identified measures * To assess the current and potential market for performance-enhancing products Heat Networks and Electricity Generation Assets (HELGA) This research project will be procured through the Heat Networks and Electricity Generation Assets (HELGA) dynamic purchasing system which is run by the Crown Commercial Service. This will be run through HELGA Service 1 - Energy Advisory, Design and Technical Services under the following filters: * Heat networks, space heating, and domestic heating (including heat pumps) * Energy efficiency in buildings Full details of this requirement will be shared with appointed HELGA suppliers when the competition launches. To be eligible to bid into this project, you will have to be an appointed supplier on HELGA by 13th May 2019. If you are interested in this project, we encourage you to sign up to HELGA as soon as possible as it can take up to 15 working days for the CCS to process your application. Instructions on how to register on HELGA can be found in the 'Other Information' section below and we hope to have a representative from the CCS at the event to answer any questions you may have about HELGA and the tendering process. Additional information: Please note - as space may be limited at this event, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To ensure the widest spread of supplier are able to join us on the 3rd May, we also request that only one representative per organisation attends the event, if possible. How to sign up to HELGA: The first step is to register as a supplier at: https://supplierregistration.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/ You must then fill in two sets of questionnaires: a general supplier set-up questionnaire and one specific to HELGA. After this, the Crown Commercial Service will assess your application and register you as a supplier. This may take up to 15 working days. Your application to join HELGA will not be assessed until you complete both questionnaires.
