Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves LGSS on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council seeking to establish a minor works framework to support building fabric and mechanical and electrical works across various properties within Cambridgeshire. The framework, titled "MINOR WORKS FRAMEWORK COVERING BUILDING FABRIC AND MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL WORK," is set to include four lots, with an estimated total value of £24 million. The tender period concluded on 11 December 2017, and the contract period is from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2022, aiming to address projects up to £1 million for building works and £500,000 for mechanical and electrical works.

This tender presents significant opportunities for SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) engaged in construction and maintenance services. Businesses specialising in minor renovation, repair, and maintenance projects, including general construction contractors and specialised trades, would be well-suited to compete. With the framework designed to allow potential providers to bid for a maximum of two lots, it encourages participation from various service providers looking to expand their client portfolios within the local government sector.
