Coventry Very Light Rail (VLR) Vehicle Project
Notice Description
The Coventry VLR vehicle project will deliver a zero tailpipe emissions demonstrator vehicle as part of a larger research and development programme to develop a novel, low-cost, low-carbon rail-based public transport system for operation within the city of Coventry. The whole system is conceived to be affordable, capable of on-and off-street running, marketable, interoperable with existing systems and has low-carbon self-propelled vehicles which are emissions free at the point of use. This project, led by WMG, a department of the University of Warwick, will deliver a demonstrator rail vehicle, with the scope of this contract covering the full turnkey solution for the demonstrator; the detailed design and subsequent manufacture, delivery and commissioning of the proof of concept demonstrator vehicle. This tender consist of 8 lots: o Lot 1 - Detailed Vehicle Design o Lot 2 - Traction Package o Lot 3 - Integrated Energy Storage System o Lot 4 - Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) System o Lot 5 - Running Gear (Bogie) o Lot 6 - Vehicle Carbody o Lot 7 - Vehicle Interior o Lot 8 - Systems Engineering/Vehicle Integration In order to express interest in this opportunity please go to the University of Warwick In-Tend supplier portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofwarwick). The University of Warwick is not a contracting authority for the purposes of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended) and its procurement activities are not subject to the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or the obligations under the European Public Procurement Directives, including the European Remedies Directive.
