Notice Description

Requirement Summary Public Health England (PHE) requires support for the DIEM Laboratory database system for its Health and Safety Executive approved Personal Dosimetry Service (PDS) based at PHE's Radiation Laboritries in Chilton. Potential suppliers should have staff with experience of working in building with sources of Gamma and Neutron radiation . The support package is to enhance and maintain business critical software which coordinates the PDS Laboratories at Chilton and Leeds and work will be a combination of remote based services and on site activities. The Support Service - description of Maintenance Days per Year (4 year contract) We expect the support team to provide a combination of emergency support days (likely to be on-site at PHE) and non-urgent support days to be scheduled at mutually convenient times. The anticipated volume of support are :- Year 1 18 Diem Support (days) and 2 Emergency Support (days), Year 2 16 Diem Support (days) and 2 Emergency Support (days), Year 3 14 Diem Support (days) and 2 Emergency Support (days), Year 4 14 Diem Support (days) and 2 Emergency Support (days) Service Availability - the support service is only required during office hours. New deployments are generally carried out at lunchtime to minimise impact on DORIS users. Technologies DIEM has been developed using the following technologies: Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Entity Framework version4.4 and above C# .net framework 4.0 and above WPF SQL 2008 R2 and above All source code is version controlled using SVN. It is the responsibility of the support organisation to back-up the source code repository and to deliver to PHE a full set of source code whenever requested Support for DIEM will include the following activities: Bug fixes Small to medium enhancements (including estimating effort) Releasing new deployments/ upgrades Keeping documentation up to date Emergency response for urgent incidents Maintaining task list (deadlines, priorities, progress) and tracking progress Skills and Experience Required Proven experience of supplying services for a maintenance and support contract such as this Support personnel for DIEM who are sufficiently competent in the technologies used (and described above) to provide authoritative support to PHE PDS. Experienced personnel cover is provided to PHE PDS during supplier staff holidays, staff sickness and staff turnover. Proven experience of supplying and maintaining software that interfaces with machines/ancillary equipment. Ability to do a full restore of DIEM system onto a fresh Operating System installation (in case of hardware replacement). The support organisation should have an adequate pool of resources with significant experience of providing all the support and management tasks as described above; Experience of monitoring the performance of a database and reporting this to the PDS team Full specification please download and read the attached document.
