Summary of the contracting process

The Westcountry Rivers Trust is currently engaged in the Fish Passage Assessment and Design Framework Contract, aimed at enhancing stocks of migratory fish in the rivers Camel and Fowey as part of the Water for Growth Project. This contract has reached the award stage, with a budget of £25,000 allocated for the service work. The tender period ended on 15 May 2018, with the contract effective from 18 May 2018 to 19 June 2018, within the South West region of the United Kingdom. The procurement method used is selective, involving call-off from an established framework agreement.

This contract represents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in environmental assessment, engineering, and construction services, particularly those focused on aquatic ecosystems. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that possess expertise in fish passage design and construction projects would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. The collaboration with statutory bodies such as the Environment Agency and Natural England underscores the project's importance, thus potential contractors should be prepared to align with regulatory frameworks and sustainability goals.
