Summary of the contracting process

Ordnance Survey, Great Britain's mapping agency, has completed the award stage for its Facilities Management Services contract centred on their offices, including the head office in Southampton, Hampshire. The tender involved CPV category 79993100 for facilities management services, with a contract scheduled to commence on 2nd June 2026 and conclude on 1st June 2033. This contract, due to its comprehensive nature, required an approach marked as "Other" for procurement method details, indicating a tailored process. The winning bidder, CBRE Managed Services, will provide essential services to ensure facilities operate optimally and sustainably at Ordnance Survey’s various sites across the United Kingdom, including support for start-ups via the Geovation office in London.

This contract presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for firms experienced in facilities management services catering to large scale and diverse portfolio requirements. Businesses adept in sustainability measures and building efficiency protocols, especially those with a forte in expansive office environments, will find themselves well-positioned to offer valuable services. With Ordnance Survey prioritising environmental sustainability and operational excellence, collaboration-focused service providers are encouraged to enhance the service offering beyond contractual obligations. Although the contract is not specifically targeting SMEs or VCSEs, companies with robust capabilities in managing complex facilities, such as CBRE Managed Services, have demonstrated the competitive edge necessary for success.
