Summary of the contracting process

The Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is seeking suppliers for the "Museum and Gallery Environmental Monitoring and Control System" project in the East of England. This procurement falls under the software package and information systems industry category. The procurement process is at the award stage, with the contract already awarded to Novatron Scientific Ltd on 14 September 2015, following the end of the tender period on 3 August 2015. The contract spans from 2 November 2015 to 13 December 2015, with a total contract value of £30,000.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses that specialise in environmental monitoring systems, particularly those with a focus on museum and gallery applications. Companies that can provide reliable, discreet systems and demonstrate adherence to the national standards set by the Museums Association would find this procurement suitable. Businesses offering installation, user training, and ongoing maintenance services, especially those based in or near Essex, may well position themselves competitively for future contracts, aligning with the council's desire for a trusted, geographically close supplier.

The Company would ideally be geographically located close to our region (Essex) and provide us with a dedicated calibration / maintenance service and full user-training and continuing technical support. When submitting your quote please email these to clairereed@southend.gov.uk. Please set out what technology/system you're offering and also clarity as to what maintenance is on offer.
