Summary of the contracting process

NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) is currently facilitating a procurement process titled "Provision for Interpreting and Translation Services," aimed at establishing a Framework Agreement for language support services primarily for NHS and other Participating Authorities. The procurement falls within the interpretation and translation services industry category, with active participation expected from various suppliers until the tender period ends on 26th April 2019. The anticipated contract duration is two years, starting from 23rd June 2019, with options for extensions, potentially lasting up to four years. The procurement method employed for this exercise is the open procedure, which is above the threshold for public contracts.

This Framework Agreement represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in interpreting and translation services, including but not limited to face-to-face interpreting, video interpreting, and translation services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be particularly well-suited to compete, given the framework's potential for subcontracting and its provision for various service types, including sensory impairment translation. Companies capable of delivering comprehensive language support will thrive in this competitive environment, poised to contribute to better healthcare outcomes for non-English speaking users across the United Kingdom.
