Summary of the contracting process

Stevenage Borough Council is currently involved in an award stage for the tender titled "SBC1117 Replacement and Renewal of Communal Heating Systems (2018-2022)." This procurement falls under the construction industry category and is located in Hertfordshire, East of England. The contract, valued at approximately £4.5 million, is set to run from 6th August 2018 to 5th August 2022. The procurement method employed is a selective procedure, aimed at entering into a four-year partnering arrangement for works that will be carried out across approximately 15 sheltered housing blocks, ensuring minimal disruption to vulnerable residents.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction firms, particularly those experienced in heating system installations and working in residential environments. Businesses that can demonstrate a capability in managing works that minimise disruption to residents, while ensuring safety and accessibility, would be well-suited to compete. Firms with expertise in installing systems such as gas boilers, air source heat pumps, and combined heat and power (CHP) units are especially encouraged to engage, as the contract outlines a comprehensive scope of works, including both plantroom and distribution tasks.
