Summary of the contracting process

Lyneham and Bradenstoke Parish Council has awarded a contract for fencing and upgrades to the dog park located in SN15. The work involves the removal and disposal of existing chainmail fencing, and the installation of approximately 336 meters of 1.8-meter high galvanised mesh fencing, with the option for powder coating. The project requires strong, rigid, and dig-proof fencing designed to prevent escape and entrapment, ensuring compliance with specified standards. Additionally, 48 meters of fencing will be installed to create a secure area for puppies and nervous dogs. Payment will be made upon satisfactory completion within three months of tender acceptance, with coordination needed with the MOD due to the proximity of their land.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in fencing, railing, and safety equipment installation work, particularly SMEs. The clear specifications and the three-month timeline offer a chance for such businesses to showcase their expertise in delivering high-quality fencing solutions while adhering to stringent animal safety standards. With the procurement method being a competitive quotation below the threshold, smaller enterprises have a viable opportunity to compete and grow by providing superior materials and strategies. Coordination with the MOD could further enhance business credibility, demonstrating capability in managing complex projects. Harlestone Fencing has been awarded the contract, underlining the suitability of SMEs in fulfilling these requirements.
