Summary of the contracting process

The Sheffield City Council is currently undertaking a procurement process for the "Leaseholder Buildings Insurance & Property Owners Liability Scheme," aiming to provide buildings insurance for approximately 2,600 leaseholders in ex-council properties, with a budget of £900,000. This open tender process is classified under insurance services and is set to close on 30 November 2020. The contract period will commence on 1 April 2021 and run until 31 March 2026. The procurement takes place in Yorkshire and the Humber region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses in the insurance sector, particularly those that are small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Companies that specialise in providing insurance solutions for residential properties or have experience working with local councils would be particularly well-suited to compete. The integration of shared ownership properties into this scheme could also broaden the market reach for potential bidders over the next five years.
