The procurement process involves the Coventry City Council, which has awarded a concession contract for the supply, maintenance, and operation of residential electric vehicle charging points in the City of Coventry. This project includes the installation of 80 charging units, comprising 75 slow chargers and 5 fast chargers. Key dates for the project include the installation of the initial 68 charge points by 31 March 2019, with commissioning to follow by 30 April 2019. The remaining 17 charge points will be installed following funding approval from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) after 1 April 2019. Companies that are well-suited to compete include small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with experience in the electrical services sector and related technologies. With an initial funding contribution of £300,000 from OLEV and additional support from Coventry City Council, businesses can leverage this contract to establish long-term relationships within the market for sustainable transport solutions.
