Notice Description

Introduction Cornwall Council would like to commission a provider that can purchase, store and distribute a range of resources that will support the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people in schools. The resources will support the work of Trauma-Informed Schools Practitioners, Mental Health Support Teams, SENCO's and others who work with children on a 1-2-1 basis or in small groups. The provider will provide a durable 60 litre plastic container with a lid; order goods as directed by the Council, and from multiple suppliers; store and assemble these as requested and distribute to 3 areas in Cornwall - West, Mid and East on an agreed date in April. The number of units is 300. The boxes will have approximately 70 percent of generic items and the remaining percentage will be bespoke for primary, secondary and special schools. The provider will ensure BS standards are met and ensure the contents are of high quality and suitable for primary, secondary and special schools. The resources will include support for professionals e.g. A Therapeutic Treasure Box by Dr K Treisman; games and cards to support resilience - Talking Tower (self-esteem version) and emotion cards; sensory items - e.g. light up lamps as well as a range of hand and finger puppets. Also, small objects to support sand tray work and a range of small percussion instruments. Participation of this soft market assessment will not prejudice suppliers participating in any future procurement.
