Summary of the contracting process

The Cambridge City Council is currently in the planning stage of the "Cambridge City Centre Recovery Scheme," which is focused on specialty design services and the installation of street furniture in various locations around Cambridge, UK. The initial call for expressions of interest was published on 4th March 2022, with a deadline for submissions set at midday on 15th March 2022. Interested parties are invited to provide information regarding their experience in delivering similar projects, with a total budget estimated at £20,000 and an expectation for installations to be completed by June/July 2022.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) in the design and installation sectors. Businesses that have experience in creating outdoor furniture or parklet designs would be particularly well-suited to compete. By participating in this project, organisations can not only contribute to the revitalisation of Cambridge City Centre following the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic but also enhance their portfolios through successful collaboration with the council.
