Summary of the contracting process

The Cambridgeshire District Councils are currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for a free event aimed at businesses operating in Cambridge titled "Find out how your business can tackle poverty in Cambridge." Scheduled for 8th November from 5pm to 7:30pm at Westminster College, Cambridge, this event addresses the socio-economic challenges in the area. The engagement end date is set for 16th January 2019, providing businesses with a clear timeframe to respond and participate in discussions forced on Corporate Social Responsibility and social value in public sector contracts.

This event presents significant growth opportunities for businesses interested in enhancing their local reputation while actively contributing to community welfare. Companies that specialise in corporate social responsibility, human resources practices, or community engagement would be particularly well-suited to participate. The focus on the Social Value Act 2012 indicates that businesses capable of demonstrating a commitment to social and economic benefits will find a competitive edge when bidding for future public sector contracts. Attendance could also provide valuable networking opportunities with local authorities and organisations addressing child poverty.
