Summary of the contracting process

This procurement process is being conducted by the Science Museum Group for the provision of Warehouse Marketing & Advisory Services for the 1830 Warehouse, a building of historical significance currently undergoing significant maintenance and refurbishment. The museum aims to find a long-term commercial use/occupier/partner for the building that aligns with their vision. The tendering stage is active, with key dates including the tender period ending on 5th December 2024 and the contract expected to start on 6th January 2025, ending on 31st December 2027. The procurement falls under the industry category of marketing management consultancy services and is to be delivered within the United Kingdom, among other locations.

The tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in marketing management consultancy services and having experience in the museum or heritage sector. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply, given the procurement method is an open procedure above the threshold, allowing fair competition. Successful participation could enhance business portfolios, establish long-term partnerships, and assert market presence within a prestigious institution like the Science Museum Group. Interested businesses should note the requirement for a strategic advisory role to maximize the 1830 Warehouse’s commercial potential.
