Summary of the contracting process

Winchester City Council is actively seeking a delivery partner for their 'Digital Skills Project', aimed at enhancing digital skills among Winchester district residents. This programme, under the open procedure procurement method, falls within the IT services and education sectors. The primary location for this initiative is the South East region of the United Kingdom, spanning multiple areas including Winchester city centre, Alresford, Bishop's Waltham, Wickham, and Denmead. This tender is currently at the tender amendment stage with the programme scheduled to start on 2nd September 2024, extending until 24th February 2025. Key deadlines include the tender period ending on 27th August 2024.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in education, IT consulting, and digital training services. Companies equipped to conduct personalised training sessions, workshops, and accredited courses can leverage this project to expand their market presence and build a local reputation. Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) with capacity to deliver continuous digital skills training will find this contract particularly suitable, especially those focusing on digital inclusion for various demographic groups like older people, disabled adults, and those affected by the current cost-of-living crisis.

Notice Title

REQUEST TO QUOTE - THE DELIVERY OF A PROGRAMME TO SUPPORT DIGITAL SKILLS OF WINCHESTER DISTRICT RESIDENTS

Notice Description

Winchester City Council is looking for a delivery partner to run group workshop sessions, bespoke one-to-one tutoring and accredited courses to support and train basic digital skills to the district's residents. The training will take place in public spaces that are easy to access for residents across the district. This project's aim is to tackle digital exclusion and support the basic digital skills of the Winchester district residents, which in turn supports the district's overall skills and increases employability. This programme of face-to-face work will be covering the entire Winchester district, which includes: * Winchester city centre * Alresford * Bishop's Waltham * Wickham * Denmead and * The other rural areas on the map below. The project will be personalised and work with individuals on a case-by-case basis (through a mixture of one-to-one interventions, group workshops and accredited courses). The research already undertaken through the Digital Winchester project has shown us that residents need support around measures that are included in the full Request to Quote pack. The aim is to target groups such as older people, unemployed and employed persons, disabled adults etc that do not have these essential digital skills or the confidence or income to learn them. Tackling not only digital exclusion, but also digital poverty. The project will help residents to overcome challenges that they are facing through the current cost-of-living crisis, build resilience, improve confidence and support them in developing the digital skills needed to move into higher quality jobs and training opportunities within the district. These activities will be: * one-to-one bespoke sessions based in the location where the resident is located at a time that is convenient to them. * workshop sessions visiting existing community groups: e.g. Winchester Gold. The community group can decide the theme of the workshop based on their attendees needs such as digital security. * the completion of accredited Outlook or Office courses with a certificate upon completion. To receive the full Request to Quote tender information, please contact us using the contact details below. Please note this programme of work will begin in September 2024 and be continuous to February 2025. You must have the capacity to deliver the programme of work continuously in this timeframe.
