Notice Title
Future Forces - Navy AI/ML event
Notice Description
The Royal Navy Develop Directorate, in collaboration with the Forces Focus programme, will host a Live roundtable discussion for industry to develop understanding of how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning can be used to progress capability within the new Maritime Operating Concept. The event will take place in Portsmouth on 25 February 2022 between 0900 and 1400. Discussions will be limited to Official level discussion only. The new Royal Navy Maritime Operating Concept requires a step-change in networked and distributed sensors to enhance operational modular capability. Autonomous systems, and the digital backbone required to exploit them, are critical to this, with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning key for rapid intelligence analysis and decision advantage. The developments required are significant and must be done in partnership with industry. The Royal Navy needs to understand the full scale of possibilities, as well as the proven shortfalls and risks, and the Forces Focus audience can significantly speed up development. This event is industry's opportunity to understand the objectives and target specific areas to engage with. Topics for discussion will include, Data Fusion, Target Identification and Prioritisation, Decision Advantage, Training Systems, Engineering and Supply Chain Management and Human-AI Trust. Please see the attached PDF for more information.
