Summary of the contracting process

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), representing the Mayor's Office for Policing & Crime (MOPAC), is initiating the "Project Electra - Market Engagement" regarding the installation of Vehicle Charging Infrastructure. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice expected on 12 April 2021. The aim is to install approximately 600 charging points across several sites on the MPS estate located in Greater London, with plans to complete them by 2025. The procurement method involves using a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to identify capable suppliers and conduct further competitions based on their feedback.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in project management consultancy services and the supply of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Suppliers with expertise in electrical equipment for vehicles, charging technology, and those who can support the extensive deployment and maintenance of these infrastructures will be well-positioned to compete. Engaging with this market research exercise not only allows potential suppliers to influence the MPS's final procurement decisions but also helps them establish valuable connections within a growing sector focused on sustainable transport solutions.
