Summary of the contracting process

The Welsh Government is inviting tenders for the "ReStart: Refugee Integration Project – ESOL Hubs", a key initiative aimed at providing education and training services for refugees predominantly in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, and Wrexham. The procurement process is currently in the Awards stage, having concluded on 14th December 2020, with a budget of £474,000 allocated for the service provision between 1st April 2021 and 31st December 2021. The project supports the Welsh Government's commitment to creating a 'Nation of Sanctuary' by enhancing refugees' access to language tuition, employability support, and cultural knowledge, crucial for their integration into society.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in educational and training services, particularly those with experience in supporting refugee integration or working collaboratively with local communities. Companies like Cardiff & Vale College, which already hold a contract under this initiative, highlight the potential for partnerships with service providers that can deliver high-quality educational programmes in the specified regions. Organisations capable of demonstrating strong governance and advising on employability skills will be well-positioned to compete and contribute to the project's overall success.
