Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being conducted by the Scottish Government for the "Mobile Client Device Framework," which falls under the computer equipment and supplies industry category. This public procurement aims to establish a national collaborative arrangement for the supply of mobile client devices including laptops and mobile workstations, valued at approximately £125 million. Currently, the tender is in an active stage, with submissions having closed on 7th April 2021. The procurement follows an open procedure and will be available for various public authorities in Scotland, including health boards, councils, and universities.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in computer equipment, accessories, and related services, particularly those that can demonstrate adherence to community benefit requirements and environmental management standards. Companies that are financially robust, possess relevant accreditations, and are capable of delivering high-quality technical solutions will stand a good chance of competing. Moreover, the involvement of a single supplier for the framework suggests potential for large-scale contracts, enabling businesses to establish long-term relationships with the Scottish Government and other public bodies.
