Summary of the contracting process

The North Yorkshire County Council is conducting a public procurement process for the 'Civil Engineering Contractors Framework 2021'. This initiative falls under the works category, specifically aimed at civil engineering projects which include bridge and highway network work across North and West Yorkshire. The procurement is currently in the active stage with a tender period ending on 21st April 2021. Interested parties can submit their bids electronically via the YORtender platform, with a maximum contract value of £220,000,000. This framework is also open to eligible public sector bodies in the region, expanding the potential scope of work.

This procurement process presents significant growth opportunities for businesses operating in the civil engineering sector, particularly those specialising in construction, maintenance, and repair of roads and infrastructure. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as larger firms with the capacity to handle contracts of varying sizes, from under £500,000 to above £2 million, are well-suited to compete. The procurement structure allows for awards to multiple suppliers across different lots, ensuring that a range of service providers can be engaged in these essential public works.
