Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "The Procurement of HAAIP Main Engine Cooling Fans" is being conducted by the Ministry of Defence in the UK. The contract aims to procure 294 cooling fans, which are critical components for the Heavy Armoured Automotive Improvement Program (HAAIP). This procurement is currently at the Tender stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 28 May 2021, and the contract is expected to last for 10 years, aligning with the HAAIP's operational requirements. The indicative budget for this procurement is between £4 million and £5 million, and it will require compliance with specific technical and cyber security specifications. Interested suppliers must register on the Defence Sourcing Portal to participate.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for manufacturers of specialised military vehicle components like cooling systems. Companies that have proven capabilities in producing parts that meet stringent military specifications would be well-suited to compete. The procurement employs a selective method, intending to shortlist up to ten suppliers based on their qualifications as assessed through a Dynamic Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (DPQQ). By engaging in this competitive tender, businesses can eventually secure long-term contracts that contribute to the defence sector's goals while expanding their operational footprint in the military vehicle market.
