Summary of the contracting process

The Executive Office in Northern Ireland has recently completed a public procurement process for a contract titled "Population Polls for COVID-19 Response and Recovery." This contract falls under the industry category of public-opinion polling services and was initiated on 14th May 2021. The award decision has been made, and a standstill period is in effect prior to the contract's commencement, which is scheduled for the beginning of June 2021. This was a limited procurement method undertaken without prior publication of a call for competition due to extreme urgency arising from unforeseen circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in polling services, data analysis, and public health research. Companies that can demonstrate capacity for rapid turnaround engagements with strong methodologies in public-opinion polling would be particularly well-suited to compete. Given the urgency of the requirements to track public behaviours and attitudes during the ongoing health crisis, businesses focused on innovative data collection and analysis can contribute to this critical initiative, potentially establishing themselves as key partners for public authorities during this challenging period.
