Notice Description
AFBI is seeking to commission a number of fishing vessels; Two prawn trawlers below 12 m, Prawn trawler above 12 m (with a second required on occasion), A semi-pelagic vessel (space to accommodate up to two scientists), A semi-pelagic vessel (space to accommodate up to three scientists) and One pelagic vessel, The commission must include all management, crew, victuals, and other services necessary to fish in the manners defined below, for a potential period of 3 years. The vessels will receive any work that will have to be commissioned by AFBI during the gear trials and upcoming trials, commercial herring survey and charters involving a semi-pelagic fleet other than the FSP survey (e.g. cod tagging, other up-coming trials) Fishing/surveys will be undertaken within the western Irish Sea (ICES Area 6a and 7a, dependent on individual trial/survey). Tenderers should refer to the specification schedule for more information.

Renewal: AFBI may, no later than six Months prior to the Initial Contract Period Expiry Date, give notice in writing to the Contractor to invite the Contractor to agree to extend the Contract for any period up to and including 12 Months. Thereafter, the Parties may agree in writing to extend the Contract for 1 further period of up to and including 12 Months beyond the end of the First Extension Period.
