Summary of the contracting process

Kent County Council has initiated a tender for the "SC21025 - Property Construction Partnership Framework", aimed at facilitating construction works across the South East of England. This framework is designed to manage significant property infrastructure projects, including new builds and refurbishments primarily for schools, but extending to other architectural needs as well. The tender closed on 20 October 2021, with a maximum potential contract value of £500 million and a framework duration of up to six years. The procurement process was conducted through a competitive procedure with negotiation, seeking to engage up to four suppliers on a rotational basis.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for construction and engineering firms, particularly those with expertise in school infrastructure and public facility development. Both large companies and SMEs could benefit from the framework, as it allows for inclusion of various types of building works and services, such as design and construction management. Firms willing to engage collaboratively with Kent County Council, particularly those experienced in meeting key performance indicators and delivering value, will find this framework an advantageous avenue for securing upcoming construction projects within the public sector.
