Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is initiating a tender titled "703703450 - PEDT/0022 - Platform Complex Systems Programme (PCSP) Delivery Framework" within the technical support services industry, specifically aimed at providing supply chain in-service support for complex systems associated with the Submarine ASTUTE class. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with an industry engagement day scheduled for 13 June 2022 at MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol, and suppliers must respond by 27 May 2022 to attend. This competitive tender process is governed by the Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations (DSPCR) 2011, with an anticipated project value between £70 million and £150 million, depending on contract scope and duration. The expected award period will commence around 30 September 2024.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in technical support services and those involved in the maintenance and operation of submarine systems and similar complex systems. Companies with expertise in programmable elements, software integration, and safety-critical systems will find this an ideal competition. Participation in the engagement day will also allow suppliers to gain valuable insights into the Authority's requirements, helping them position themselves favourably in this competitive landscape. The long-term relationship envisaged under this framework is likely to benefit companies looking to expand their footprint in the defence sector.
