Summary of the contracting process

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Authority is conducting a tender process for a "Command and Control Solution," aimed at enhancing command, control, communication, and computer systems within the fire service sector. This procurement falls under the goods category and is part of the Networked Fire Safety Partnership, which includes several fire and rescue authorities. The procurement is currently at the planning stage with market engagement activities ongoing. Key dates include the anticipated publication of the contract notice in October 2022 and a deadline for supplier participation confirmation set for 13:00 on 21 June 2022. This project is expected to benefit multiple regions in the UK, particularly Exeter, where the authority is based.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in telecommunications and emergency response solutions, particularly those offering Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Integrated Communications Control Systems (ICCS). Companies that can demonstrate innovative solutions catering to the requirements of fire and rescue authorities, and that have experience in public sector tenders, will be strategically positioned to compete effectively. Engaging with the supplier day and leveraging the open communication channels established during this early engagement phase could further enhance potential partners' prospects for securing this valuable contract.
