Summary of the contracting process

The University of the Highlands and Islands is seeking tenders for a Research Collaboration Project to investigate highly antimicrobial inorganic coatings for infection control. The project falls under the laboratory services category and involves evaluating technologies for producing antimicrobial coatings primarily for healthcare products. The procurement stage is currently active, with a tender deadline of August 8th, 2022, and a location in Inverness, UK. The University aims to work with a contractor to develop these coatings under a Research Collaboration Agreement.

This tender opportunity provides a chance for businesses involved in laboratory services, biomedical equipment, coating materials, research services, and related sectors to collaborate with the University on antimicrobial coating solutions. Companies with expertise in producing antimicrobial coatings through physical vapour deposition would be well-suited to compete. The award criteria for this tender include factors like process capability, service delivery, and price, with a focus on quality and fair work practices.
