The programme recruits high calibre candidates who have a 2:2 degree and who already have experience of working with vulnerable children, young people or adults who want to train as social workers. The DfE have announced that they will fund a cohort 8 of the Step up to Social Work programme and the EMRP is seeking to contract a Higher Education Institution (HEI) to work with the East Midlands EMRP to deliver and quality assure a Cohort 8 Step Up to Social Work Programme to train students who will be attached to Local Authorities in the East Midlands Region. Derby City Council is acting as the lead authority in the procurement of this new contract on behalf of all Local Authorities in the EMRP
