Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government has completed an award process for a "Mobile Voice and Data Services" procurement contract, won by Vodafone Ltd. The contract, with a value of £30 million, aims to provide services across Scotland to various public bodies, charities, and voluntary organisations. The procurement method used was an open procedure, and the contract is now active, signed on 13th April 2023. The buying organisation, the Scottish Government, is based in Glasgow, UK, and has specified quality and price as award criteria.

This procurement opens up opportunities for businesses in the mobile-telephone services industry to compete for providing voice and data services in Scotland. Companies offering SIM cards, mobile telephones, telecommunications equipment, and related services are well-suited to bid for this contract. The Scottish Government's commitment to community benefits and sustainable economic growth signals a business-friendly approach, offering a potentially long-term engagement until March 2026. Businesses interested in expanding their presence in Scotland through public sector contracts should consider engaging with the Scottish Government's forthcoming calls for tender.
