This initial Expression of Interest (EOI) is to determine the capacity & availability of providers within the North Pembrokeshire area of Hywel Dda University Health Board to meet specific requirements of Health Boards for NHS Dental Services

Lot 1

The Health Board are seeking to commission the provision of Mandatory General Dental Services for the population of North Pembrokeshire. This service will be delivered in line with the 2006 General Dental Services Contract, with an expectation that Contract Reform principles will be implemented with providers working to the Contract Reform Contract Variation. The specific area of North Pembrokeshire is set out in the attached map. The Contract would be for the provision of approximately 4700 UDAs per annum. When broken down to Contract Reform Metrics the approximate requirements would be as follows: 87 new patients 130 new urgent patients 1068 historic patients 1175 UDAs There is the opportunity for the financial value to be awarded to one provider or split across a number of providers within the North Pembrokeshire area. However, this will be dependant on the level of interest received. Approximate number of cases per month: 7 new patients 11 New Urgent Patients 89 Historic patients It is expected that the number of New patients seen in year 1 would be higher than that in year 2 in order to support an appropriate level of historic patients for this size contract from year 3 onwards. It is hoped that the implementation of this service would be by the end of quarter 2 in 2023-24. However, earlier options would be preferable. All dentist performers must be included on the GDC register and the all Wales performers list. ALL OTHER Dental Care Professionals (DCP's) will possess the appropriate GDC registration. New patients and Urgent New patients will be allocated from the Health Board Waiting list and Urgent Dental Access pathway. Activity will be reported via Compass and eDen using current FP17W claim forms. The Provider will notify the Health board of circumstances affecting Practice ability to deliver services as expected.
