Notice Description

The City Council's Highways Operations Division is responsible for maintenance of the adopted highway network in Stoke-on-Trent. The creation of this framework will provide increased capacity to enable the team to meet in-coming demand. During any periods where demand is greater than capacity, additional resources will be drawn down through the framework. This framework will be divided into Lots and will cover the following activities: * Carriageway patching and pot-hole works * Small to medium scale resurfacing works * Minor Road Repairs - Labour day rated * Car park constructions * Drainage infrastructure repairs and installations * Vehicle access crossing points * Paving and footway works * Specialist paving works * Civil Engineering Projects

Lot Information

Lot 1 - Minor Road Works

This lot is for hire of labour, materials and plant resources to undertake minor repairs on the highway network, such as pothole repairs and patches. The work to be executed under this framework will be spread over a number of sites within the City.

Lot 2A - Civil Engineering (tasl orers up to £500K)

Work schemes will be inclusive of but not limited to: * Vehicle access crossings for both domestic and commercial premises * Footway reconstruction works * Carriageway reconstruction works * Carriageway overlays and inlays * Drainage installation works * Ducting installation works * Kerbing works either new lines or maintenance of existing ones * Small paving works either lift and relay or renew * Construction of new small car parks up to 40 spaces * Section 38 works forming new junctions and accesses on public highway * Section 278 works alterations to the existing highway * Small elements of landscaping and planting * Small elements of road marking * Installation removal and maintenance of traffic management

Lot 2B - Civil Engineering (task order over £500K)

Work schemes will be inclusive of but not limited to: * Vehicle access crossings for both domestic and commercial premises * Footway reconstruction works * Carriageway reconstruction works * Carriageway overlays and inlays * Drainage installation works * Ducting installation works * Kerbing works either new lines or maintenance of existing ones * Small paving works either lift and relay or renew * Construction of new small car parks up to 40 spaces * Section 38 works forming new junctions and accesses on public highway * Section 278 works alterations to the existing highway * Small elements of landscaping and planting * Small elements of road marking * Installation removal and maintenance of traffic management

Lot Lot 3 - Specialist Paving

The installation of new ridged paving using propriety bedding mortar and grout and the maintenance of existing paved areas including cleaning repairing and re grouting and re sealing.

Lot 4 - Road Markings

Works may comprise of any or all of the following activities: * Refreshing existing road markings: to follow the TRO to replace the existing road markings that are beyond their useful life * Renewing road markings: following drawings to implement new lining schemes following a completed scheme * Removal of existing markings: to remove any unwanted road markings.

Lot Lot 5 - Section 278

Work schemes will be inclusive of but not limited to: * Vehicle access crossings for both domestic and commercial premises * New design and Footway construction works * New design and Carriageway construction works * New design and Drainage installation works * Ducting installation works * Kerbing works either new lines or maintenance of existing ones * Paving works either lift and relay or renew * Design and Construction of new small car parks up to 40 spaces * Design and construction of Section 38 works forming new junctions and accesses on public highway * Design and construction of Section 278 works alterations to the existing highway * Small elements of landscaping and planting to compliment the scheme * Small elements of road marking * Designing of small safety schemes to include junction improvements and traffic calming and pedestrian safety schemes. * Designing and construction of small sustainable urban drainage design schemes to either new or existing infrastructure. * Temporary works designs

Vehicle access for domestic and industrial footway crossings .

Lot Lot 7 - Bridges

Works included within this lot will be: * Structural works (including bridges and occasional building works); * Bridge strengthening works; * Graffiti treatment; * Maintenance painting of steelwork; * Waterproofing and joint replacement works; * Road restraint systems; * Testing of materials; * Site investigations; * Bridge condition surveys; and * Bridge Maintenance and repairs.
