Summary of the contracting process

The Great Places Housing Group has initiated a planning stage for a tender titled "Responsive Repairs and Maintenance," aimed at servicing 25,000 homes and properties in the North West and South Yorkshire. Categorised under repair and maintenance services of building installations (CPV code 50700000), this pre-market engagement notice seeks feedback from contractors to shape future requirements. The market engagement will collect insights on location, capacity, costs, and best practices through an online survey, which is open until 30th August 2024. The final tender is estimated to be released on 4th November 2024, with the overall value expected to be around £3 million per annum.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in various trades, including roofing, scaffolding, plumbing, electrics, and white goods repairs. Through early engagement, companies can influence the tender specifications to align better with their capabilities, thereby enhancing their chances of success. Small to medium enterprises, particularly those experienced in building maintenance and responsive repairs, will find this tender appealing. Additionally, suppliers with less public sector bidding experience stand to gain from potential training opportunities highlighted in this pre-procurement phase, fostering an inclusive competition landscape for both established firms and emerging entrants.
